Exploring Oceania's Vista

Beccy Miller

Our Mark was recently taken on a tour around Oceania's newest ship, Vista, by our lovely account manager, Lisa. This luxury brand is known for its incredible dining, carefully curated itineraries and impeccable service on beautiful ships. All of our team who have sailed with them rave about the experience, so let's see what he thought...

Public Areas

The Vista embraces a resort-like ambience compared to the older 'country-club hotel' style. The public areas boast brighter, lighter tones, with the pool deck and Aquamar Terrace standing out as beautifully designed spaces. Loungers are invitingly comfortable, and the soothing décor and music create a calming atmosphere.

One standout feature is the availability of water fountains throughout the ship, and every guest receives a reusable water bottle in their stateroom. The Horizon Lounge has been revamped for more space and flexibility, catering to night owls and those seeking quieter moments.

The LYNC Centre offers complimentary photography and social media classes for those seeking creative enrichment, while the Artist Loft hosts free hands-on sessions like glass painting and sculpture. You can also indulge your culinary passions at the expansive and complimentary Culinary Centre, a true highlight.

Spa

The Aquamar Spa now features a terrace area, a first for Oceania and perfect for those sea days.  At around $29/day for access, it's incredible value. This haven offers a Thalasso pool, hot tubs, and heated loungers. The gym is well-equipped, and most fitness classes are complimentary.

Bars

Favourites like Martini's bar, offer a beautiful ambience and an extensive menu. I really enjoyed Founders Bar. Although the space is petite, the cocktails offered a spectacular display. Utilising smoke, herbs, fruit, and perfume spritzers, they transformed orders into captivating spectacles with plenty of pizazz.

Restaurants

Oceania is renowned for its dining experiences, and the Vista continues this tradition. Step into Toscana, where Tuscan chefs prepare secret family recipes, and you'll be guided through a selection of Olive Oils by an 'oil sommelier'. Expect to savour a leisurely 2-3 hour dinner.

All speciality dining, except for Prive, is included, with Polo Grill and Red Ginger maintaining popularity. The buffet is exceptional, and the Waves Grill takes snacks to another level, even offering a 'Surf & Turf' burger at no extra cost.

Experience the new Ember restaurant, providing upscale American cuisine in a less formal setting, perfect for those who prefer a shorter dining experience.

Staterooms

French Balcony, Veranda, and Concierge staterooms share identical dimensions. Though relatively snug, they boast tasteful furnishings, a good-sized balcony, and a large TV. The bathroom surprises with its spaciousness and attractive shower.

Elevating the experience, the Penthouse Suite offers twice the room, with a walk-in dressing area, a larger bathroom, a balcony, and a seating zone. The Vista Suite is a marvel, featuring a generous bedroom, a bathroom akin to standard stateroom dimensions, an expansive shower, an extra guest bathroom, a roomy lounge, and a full wrap-around balcony.  Both come with a private butler.

Vista's enhancements amplify its value. Meticulous attention to detail, superb food, and enriching experiences characterise this slightly larger gem. It is an enticing choice for newcomers seeking an extraordinary voyage. The Oceania Vista has soared onto my must-sail list, and I suggest you add it to yours too!
